My Calendar

My mom got me a rad Eastern Wisdom Day-by-Day calendar for Christmas. Here's today's quote:

"Each of us in our own way can try to spread compassion into people's hearts" - Dalai Lama

give it away, give it away...

Not that I'm Comparing Myself..

to Mother Teresa... I just find these inspiring... and I need some Faith inspiration today... A reminder to love fully...

"Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies."

"Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. What we need is to love without getting tired."

"Everytime you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing."

"I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love."

"I know God will not give me anything I can't handle. I just wish that He didn't trust me so much."

"In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love."

"Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action."

What I Did Do

I voted for John McCain - when I have more time at home, I'll tell you why, and I have a great post brewing about my Election Day experience. But, most importantly, this:

"I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our good will and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.

Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that.

It is natural, tonight, to feel some disappointment. But tomorrow, we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again."
