Leash Training

Clyde got a fantastic run today... he also had about a half-hour of leash training. This dog is wretched on a leash. He is so good at letting us be pack-leader in so many situations, but on a leash, he thinks he's in charge. On our way to run, we took some time for "being a tree" training. This is where Momma Jen stands completely still and ignores him until he appears to be ready to relax and let me be in charge. Well, sometimes, like today, it can take 10 minutes the first time we stop for him to get his bossiness out of him. Then we get about three steps until he pulls again, and we stop again. We did this all the way to the beginning of the trail. I really hope it starts to work some day! He was better on the way home after he ran around for a while, but I also didn't have time to really work on the way home because Daddy DVO and I were on our way out for the afternoon.

Now, he is being a lazy pup - a tired dog is a happy dog...

Until next time - much happiness, love and laughter to you!
